Hertz Farm Management, Inc. has a total of 36 Accredited Farm Managers (AFM). This is a title granted by the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers after attending designated schools and proving competence through prepared reports and examinations. Professional farm managers are eligible to take the examination for the title after they have had four years of experience.
The Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) title is also granted by the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Applicants must have five years of experience, have received a passing grade for fourteen approved appraisal courses, have submitted an acceptable demonstration appraisal, and successfully passed the examination given by the American Society Accrediting Committee. Hertz Farm Management, Inc. has seven accredited appraisers on staff.
The Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) is a title granted by the Realtors Land Institute after completing specified educational and experience requirements and successfully passing a comprehensive examination. Eleven members of the Hertz Farm Management, Inc. professional staff hold this title, more than any other agricultural and real estate consulting firm in the United States.
State Certified General Real Property Appraiser - To appraise property for any local, state or federal government or related agencies, or where government funding is involved, the appraiser must be licensed or certified. (Examples include loans for banks or savings and loans, FDIC, FMHA, VA, DNR.) The highest level of license/certification is "Certified General Real Property Appraiser". This certification is required for any income producing properties or for properties of value in excess of $250,000. This level of certification requires a minimum of 180 hours of appraisal education, 3,000 hours of appraisal experience, and successful completion of a state appraisal exam. Nine staff members of Hertz Farm Management, Inc. are State Certified General Real Property Appraisers.
The Accredited Agricultural Consultant (AAC) is a title granted by the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Applicants must meet requirements of experience and education. In addition to meeting the requirements, they pass oral and written examinations and agree to abide by the American Society's Code of Ethics.
