Troy joined Hertz Farm Management in November 1999, where he manages farms and coordinates the real estate activities for the Mt. Vernon office.

Troy’s strong agricultural background dates back to his youth. He grew up on a family farm near Graettinger, in northern Iowa. Additionally, he worked on a 800 acre row crop and 300 sow farrow/finish hog operation, and analyzed seed for the Iowa State University Seed Science Center while completing his bachelor’s degree at Iowa State University. Prior to joining Hertz, Troy served as an Agricultural Loan Officer at the Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank in Manchester, Iowa for nearly six years.

He’s served as treasurer of the Delaware County Extension Council, president of the Delaware County Bankers Association, president of the Manchester Chamber Ag Affairs Committee, president of the Manchester Jaycees and coordinator of the Iowa Masters Corn and Soybean contest for Delaware County. Troy is a member of the Iowa and National Association of Realtors, Cedar Rapids Board of Realtors, and the Iowa and National Realtors Land Institute. He is also a member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.

Troy is married and his wife’s name in Tracey.
